Voting Question: Is this a lot for Assurant health plan per month?
They seem to go up on my monthly rate over 40$ a year! Every year is goes up - I am 38 yo and I am paying $281.00 a month for a health insurance just for me through Assurant. No dental. I do have kind high blood pressure, but in the last 4 months I have lost 40lbs. So I willbegetting it checked again. Doesnt this seem high?

Resolved Question: Blue cross vs. Assurant Health Insurance - I'm self employed and want to get pregnant in few months.?
Blue cross has 12 months waiting period and Assurant has 3 months waiting period. I'm reaching an age that I can't wait too long. I prefer to go with Blue Cross b/c they are a reputable company but I don't want to wait 1 year. Any ideas? Is Assurant Health Insurance reliable ?

Resolved Question: 6 hour stay in hospital for acute anxiety attack, what is my cost without calling insurance company?
Saturday night, I was having an acute anxiety attack to the point of heart palpetations and dizziness and turned myself into St. Anthonys hospital cause I couldn't calm down. I have temporary health coverage with Assurant health; monthly premium is $84. I read my policy and it probably wont cover my incident from the other night. So I'll have to pay out of pocket. Here's how the treatment went:
It's was about midnight when I walked into the ER. They checked my vital signs and then admitted me to a room where they prescribed a dose of Xanax; which really helped! Of course, three nurses and the doctor were asking a billion health questions as usual which got on my nerves. Then they wanted to take me over to a counselor for a psychiatric evaluation. I was waiting about 3 hours in the ER room cause staff was busy and falling behind. It was about 4:00 in the morning when I was finally taken over to the counselor; she evaluated me and called the psychiatrist and said that I was good enough to go home--thank god I didn't have to be admitted to the psych ward, I'd be in debt forever! I was finally discharged and able to go home around 5:45 am. So my total time for staying was about 6 hours tops; I'm not even sure if it counts as overnight. About how much of a debt would I incur from this incident? I called the billing number at the hospital and they couldn't give me an answer cause it takes about two weeks for a bill to be made up. I just wanna know an estimate right now so I can set up a payment plan and start paying early. I'm hoping to God in my situation that I won't owe as much as $10,000! I'm in big trouble. I was nervous to call my insurance company cause I'm scared they'll drop me to being high risk.

My husband and I are looking for insurance. His company doesn't provide it, and we want to get pregnant by the end of the year. Assurant Health seems to have a decent maternity coverage, and I was looking to see if anyone has an info/experience with them.
For where I am, it is a $5,000 maternity deductible, and after you meet that, they cover 100% of everything else. Which after pricing with my dr and the hospital, a normal, complication free pregnancy/delivery would be around $10,000. They seem to be the only insurance option, though. I hope it is as easy as it seems.

well I guess we dont have maternity insurance so we are getting aproved and signing the papers by the 1st of Feb. it will go into effect right away *the health part* but the maternity there is a 90 day wait. I guess to make sure you stay with them or some STUPID thing like that, So therefore I have to WAIT until May 1st to become pregnant. If I get pregnant before that than they wont cover me! =( its through Hartford Insurance and assurant health care... UGH.... I am sooooo sad and soo depressed and so mad and upset.. But I would rather be covered than pay over $10,000.00!!!! anyways any thoughts on this or what I can do to NOT feel so sad??

ive been ttc#1 and this is month 8 for us... so we have ttc for awhile and now I have to give up hope for awhile... =/ they wont cover me if I become pregnant in 90days and throughout the pregn. I guess. thats what my hubby told me
well I hope your right that I just cant give birth before the 90days. Which I a not even pregnant so I would be fine.. We are going to call him back *insurance guy* and discuss with him furhter into detail.. If I can get pregnant before that, I would be thrilled!!!!! If not than I guess I wait it out.. errr....

Ok here's the deal, I got my period like a month or so ago, and 2 weeks later, I had a light flow of really dark blood for around 8 days. I was clear for about a week or so, and yesterday it started again. I'm getting scared, and going to the Dr, but I just want to know if anyone else has been through this and had some advice.
Also, I have no insurance but would like to get soma ASAP in the event that I have complications of some sort. I am considering Assurant Health (www.assuranthealth.com), but I was wondering if anyone had any experience with this insurance, and how the coverage was.

Hello my brother is in hospital, he is in coma. His insurance is going to stop covering him in about 1 week. Right now I am not sure who is going to pay for his medical care. We are Internationals. He is university student. Very smart. He needs 2 more surgeries needed to be done. Please help me, I have heard about Cobra insurance, also Assurant Health.
