Resolved Question: Jobs during Argentina Economics Collapse?
I read 25% didn't have jobs and it was probably higher. Who kept their jobs? I also read that those who kept their jobs, many took a huge paycut! Besides doctor, and maybe nurses, (and those selling foods they grew and black market items) what jobs did people still have? Thanks.

Resolved Question: Did you read about the stray cats in Argentina that kept this boy warm in the gutter?
He'd got lost while searching cardboard. And a policewomen spotted a bunch of cats sitting in a spot and licking something. She went closer and saw it was a boy all dirty, the cats hissed at her. Then she took him away. They'd(cats) been feeding the boy scraps of food. Of course they say the cats thought of him as a hot water bottle. Because they curl up with anything warm, even dogs.

Resolved Question: How many of these things have you done?!?!?!?
1. Set foot on each of the seven continents. Antarctica might be a tough one, but once you’ve reached all seven you can truly call yourself a world traveler. 2. Cross a country on a bicycle. A bicycle tour takes some planning, but it beats being separated from a country though a passenger-side window. 3. Ride something bigger than a horse. Trekking through the jungle on the back of a two story tall elephant will surely be something you remember forever. 4. Live like a local for a month. The experience of visiting native peoples will give you way more insight into another way of life than two years hopping from one backpacker ghetto to the next. 5. Visit a “real” blues bar in Chicago. What better way to leave music’s commercialism behind and find the soul of the blues? 6. Learn another language. This is definitely a weighty and time-consuming proposition, but there are plenty of resources out there to ease the process. 7. Go heli-skiing. The access to snow and terrain via heli is different (read: better) that anything else you’ll ever experience. 8. Travel India by train. Resolved Question: Where would you go? Must be on Air Canada, in Dec, 10 days at destination, warm place. Reasonable flight.?
I have an unused, non-refundable ticket that can be changed and must be now. It is worth about $1100 and will cost $200 to change. Originally was going to Buenos Aires, Argentina. Well that is a LONG flight and I would like a shorter one. Maybe Caribbean? Which island? I just want to rest, keep to myself, sit on beach, have a room with balcony looking over sea. Good food in hotel or nearby. Must be three or more stars, Probably no more than $300 a night. Would appreciate suggestions soon, as I have to change the reservation made for Dec 10. Don/t worry about a lot of details, just tell me why you picked the place and I will look up reviews, description, and reservation information. Thanks folks.

Voting Question: NEED ADVICE FROM GIRLS! 10 POINTS FOR HELPING!?
Now, I've just started working at a small business that is owned by my parents about 2 months ago, and I only go about 3 times a week. So the same day I started working there it was also this new girl's first day. at first I couldn't tell if she was interested, but now I think she's pretty interested. How do I know? She seems to enjoy talking to me whenever I talk to her. also, I saw her yesterday after a week of not seeing her because I've been absent from work and she got a big smile on her face when I showed up and looked right at me and greeted me as I was walking in to work even though she was talking to a client. She usually just finishes what she does, with me walking right past her when I go in for work, and greets me after I greet her. also, I asked her yesterday morning how her thanksgiving went and she briefly said "just fine thanks" and that was it. Then about a few hours later after my mom (who is her boss) left for the restroom she asked how my thanksgiving went. Then she gleefully told me how she went to an Argentine restaurant for the first time this past weekend (my parents are from Argentina, which she knows, and she's Mexican) and how she tried lots of different foods for the first time and liked it. But she stopped talking right when my mom walked in but then she did something new, she included my mom in the conversation and my mom was pretty happy to hear it. I've thought about asking her out for coffee but I can't really do that because she takes her break in the break room which is right next door to my mom's office and she definitely does not want my mom to see us talking. She has demonstrated this every time we're having a conversation and she just abruptly stops talking if my mom walks in the room. But she'll talk to me if my mom steps out for the restroom or something. Now I've never dated someone from work, let alone at where I work now since my mom is usually present. So my question are: how do I ask her out and do I tell my mom? She is 20 and I'm 22 if that helps. Oh, and I sometimes see her on Fridays(mom always stays home on the weekends) to do some work. Would a Friday be a good time to ask her out?

Resolved Question: As a young adult, where should I go in Latin/South America?
Hey guys, I'm 20 years old and am planning my first vacation on my own. I've had the fortune of being able to travel over South East Asia while I was living at home: Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Japan, China, Singapore, Malaysia and Jamaica as well. Its been a couple of years since I've been on a trip and I think it's time I take a little vacation again :) I've already traveled Asia so that's off the list... Europe's too expensive so that's off too... My father's from Mexico and I know a couple of people from Brazil and Peru, so I've decided this should be my next destination. While tourist spots are popular for a reason and I would like to see them, I would also like to go to places that not everybody knows about. I want to: visit local beaches eat great food party and rave with awesome people Do a little hiking and camping visit historic and cultural spots 'm thinking I might hit up Brazil, Peru and Argentina but I still need to do a bit of research... Where are the best places to visit in Latin/South America? Thanks :)

Resolved Question: What are some famous argentina food?

Resolved Question: 12 facts about argentina?
histoy,food, sports

Resolved Question: Have you ever not bought a food product because of where it was made? What was it, and where was it made?
I just bought a bag of candy corn on sale after Halloween. When I got home I noticed it was made in Mexico. Had I noticed before, I would not have bought it. I don't think of Mexico as sanitary. Why would I want a possible water processing food item. Same with countries that may not have pesticide controls for crops. I don't want banned USA toxic sprays on my food. I bought carmels from Argentina. Was uncertain whether I wanted to do that. Do they get milk from China. I figured they are an agricultural country so I bought them anyway. What do you think? Have you ever noticed?

Resolved Question: How much does it cost to live basic in Argentina per day?
Things like food, tolietries, hostel/hotel maybe a beer or 2

Resolved Question: Aren't Irish the best people on EARTH?
Ok, I don't mean it like they're superior or anything. I know we're all equal, I'm just exaggerating in a friendly way. What I mean is.... the Irish have suffered for so many years from so many different people (Vikings, English, etc.) for their religious beliefs, for their independence, etc., yet they still always maintain a positive attitude. The Irish along with the Western Africans, Jews, and a few others are some of the most dispersed people on earth. They've scattered to England, Canada, the US, Australia, South Africa, Argentina, etc. and almost everywhere they go they become successful. They basiccally built New York, they built the railroads in this country, they worked for pennies, and never complained. When times were hard they went to Church, instead of asking the government for help. When the famine hit Ireland in the 1840's the Irish would rather starve than steal food from the local stores. They've suffered so much throughout history, yet made so much success. They have so much shame too (if you're Irish you know what I mean). They don't disgrace themselves in public, and such high moral standards. If you've read Angela's Ashes, aside from the drunken father, that's basically how every Irish family is. Of course, there is the drunken stereotype, but there's drunks in every race, let's not exclude it to the Irish. Overall they're such a hard-working, shameful, detemined people, and their success shows, as probably about half the US senators of the US are Irish of some sort, and some of the wealthiest Americans are Irish. I mean come on, when's the last time you heard anyone say they hated Irish people? Everyone respects them. So what do you guys think? Again, if you're going to bring up Guinness, then don't bother answering because you're an ignorant fool. P.S. I'm a black American. This question has nothing to do with racism. I'm just saying, as a black person, I've noticed a lot of other black people that never shut up about racism and feeling like victims. The Irish who immigrated to America, were not like the immigrants of today. Todat, immigrants demnad money from the government.... The IRish lived in some of the worst slums in this country and never asked for anything. The Irish remained so civilized during the Irish famine. In any other country in the world there would have been riots, murders, and theft.

Resolved Question: Traditional Food from Spanish Speaking Countries?
I am giving a cultural report in my Spanish class- it has to be something that in a way represents a country. My teacher used Mate in Argentina as an example. I really enjoy cooking and wanted to make some sort of food. Originally I was thinking tamales... but i'm worried thats not very limited to just one country. Other ideas I had were arroz con grandules (from puerto rico i believe... but i'm not a huge fan of it and I don't know if that is a popular dish world round lol) or pupusas (el salvador, never eaten one though) I wanted to steer away from Spain because my last two speeches have been about spain (granada and la tomatina) I have a particular interest in Mexican culture, but I wanted to do something a little more exotic than rice, beans and tortillas :) Thanks ahead of time!!!

Resolved Question: Argentinean Restaurants in Missouri?

Resolved Question: What would you suggest to do to represent Argentina ie: food, songs, clothes.?
I was asking because there is something like international day for girl scouts (Thinking Day), and the troops all pick a country and represent it. This is the country that my girl's troop is picking, so I thought that I would ask about ideas. Any ideas are appreciated, ^_^.

Resolved Question: does this story sound interesting.....?
I looked out toward the Atlantic Ocean, out past all the ice and snow and wondered what it would be like to leave this frozen clump of ice and go somewhere warmer. Somewhere like Argentina or Bolivia or even to America to stay with (gag) Aunt Bea for a while. Just thinking about it made me shiver. I pulled out my pocket thermometer and sighed. The temp was 5 degrees. And that was in my pocket, it was probably more like -30! I was very glad that I had worn my warmest coat. Later, inside our igloo (if you could call it an igloo, it was as big as a house), I heard a muffled ‘pow’ and stepped outside. There was a small plume of smoke in the direction of the Shackleton Base. “Oh no!” I thought, “Those pests are going for ice samples AGAIN!” “How annoying.” I sighed. The people at the Shackleton were just doing their job, but, it got irritating sometimes when you were just wanting peace and quiet and once you got relaxed……POW! They would start up again. I shut the door and walked to the kitchen. Yuck. I was glad that my parents had gone to the Shackleton for more supplies (finally); most of what we had was dried soups and mixes. Maybe I would just eat some dog food instead. That sounded better than more dehydrated soup. I am not a picky eater, but I have my limits when it comes to dehydrated split-pea and carrot soup. I peered into the back of the cupboard, spied a can in the corner, pulled it out and, since no one was watching, jumped around in circles. I had found an old can of pinto beans! YIPPEE! Now, if I could just find ONE more tortilla and maybe a teeny-tiny bit of cheese I could make a burrito! What a heavenly change from dehydrated soup! This is an exerpt from the first chapter. I have another 4 chapters written
