News and Questions About approved fda loss pill weight

Resolved Question: Can the Alli pill be used along with Appetite suppressants for a more effective weight loss.?
Alli is FDA approved because it does not go into the bloodstream like other chemical diet pills. It absorbs most of the fat you eat and keeps it from being stored in the body. Your body eliminates the fat. Many people complain that it causes bowel accidents which is probably due to people continuing to eat enormous amount of fat and not changing their eating habits. My question is; Can a person use appetite suppressants along with Alli?

Voting Question: Does hoodia really work?
I am contemplating buying some Hoodia pills, they are a bit spendy, but i am willing to spend a few to shed this extra weight. Has anyone tried hoodia pills and did it work? Also is hoodia FDA approved for weight loss? Thanks

Resolved Question: Should I be concerned about my already-skinny stepmother's unending quest to be thinner?
My stepmom is already thin. People comment on it all the time with worry in their voices. She's always been thin, yet she will not be convinced that she doesn't need to lose weight. In the 15 years I've known her, she has not stopped counting calories, avoiding carbs, taking up fad diets (South Beach, Atkins, Weight Watchers, Master Cleanse, etc., etc.), and skipping meals altogether. Our refrigerator contains nothing but low-fat / fat-free / diet / low-calorie / 0-calorie / negative-calorie products. Now, just a few days ago, I found something that really sent up a red flag: a stash of appetite suppressants and diet pills that fills a kitchen drawer and two cupboards. It includes: -"Quick Boost" Energy Drink Mix / Dietary Supplement from Quick Weight Loss Center (24 boxes, each containing 14 units) -"Herbal-Slim Lite" from Quick Weight Loss Center (3 bottles, each containing 180 capsules) -"EFA" Essential Fatty Acid Dietary Supplement from Quick Loss Weight Center (8 bottles, each containing 120 capsules) -"Carb Blocker" from Quick Loss Weight Center (8 bottles, each containing 90 capsules) -"Herbal-Slim Metabolizer" from Quick Loss Weight Center (4 bottles, each containing 180 capsules) -"15-Day Weight Loss Cleanse & Flush" (1 bottle containing 60 capsules) -"Fücothin" Concentrated Fucoxanthin (1 bottle containing 60 capsules) -"Zenergize: Burn" Natural Weight Loss Boost (2 boxes, each containing 10 units) -"Naturalean Complete: Trim Effects Crave Control Formula" (1 bottle containing 100 capsules) -"Glycotrol" from the Houston Weight Loss & Lipo Center (2 bottles, each containing about 50 pills) -"Slim Shots" Liquid Appetite Controller (1 box containing 30 shots) I hope my stepmother is not taking all of these products concurrently. It appears that she's at least sampled each one, and worked her way through many of them. A quick glance over these products reveals that few, if any, are FDA-approved. "Slim Shots" claims that four separate studies point to the efficacy of their product, but I can't find any of these studies published anywhere. The claims of some of the other products (e.g. Fücothin) seem to be based on results of preliminary studies that have not yet been replicated. And although they all claim to be "all-natural" and "chemical-free," they seem to have effects on the body that could still be dangerous: altering the pancreas' absorption capacity, changing the body's base metabolic rate, making the body feel full when it is actually hungry, etc. And isn't GlycoTrol intended for people with diabetes? I know my stepmother is not diabetic. The worst part is that my sister and stepsister, both teenagers, have learned that the compulsive quest for thinness is completely normal and that taking supplements for weight loss is nothing unusual. My sister, who is 19 and perfectly thin, berated me today after I criticized her for taking Sim Shots. She claims to have her own sizable stash in her room somewhere. Am I making a big deal out of nothing, or is there cause for legitimate concern here? Is this grounds for some sort of intervention? Should I talk to my doctor? I should probably add that I've heard through the family grapevine that my stepmother has suffered from eating disorders as a teenager and young woman.

Resolved Question: has anyone tried the weight loss pill Lipocerin??

Resolved Question: Has anyone here ever tried Alli for weight loss?
I'm planning to start taking these pills. I'm not really a believer of fast weight loss products but because this one is FDA-approved and encourages diet and excercise, I'm willing to try it out. There aren't really any side effects to it, or so it says, if you do things right. Nevertheless, I want to do some research on it before I buy it since it is like $60 for 90 capsules which only last a month since the thing is three pills a day. I've already gone to their website and read how it works and stuff but I'd like to know if any of you have tried it and what you think of it. Thanks! BTW, I have about 20-25lbs. to loose..

Resolved Question: Does Alli work?
I am 23 years old and my metabolism is catching up with me. Another problem is I have a recent disability that keeps me from running which is how I used to stay lean. I have gained about 15lbs since my injury. I have tried walking (which I do EVERY day), I eat 100% healthier, drink green tea everyday (which I love so I would even if it weren't said to help weight loss), and I have even tried other diet pills that just don't. I was plannng on taking Alli when it first came out but heard about the side effect that may cause people to need a diaper. I cannot believe that! But then again, it is FDA approved and no other pill is. So if it works am willing to take the side effects. So how bad are the side effects and does it REALLY work????

Resolved Question: If the FDA is so concerned about the health and well-being of citizens, how come it does not ban cigarettes?
I remember the ephedra scandal a few years go in which a few people died or had serious health affects as a result of this weight-loss pill (based solely on what I know, I have not researched this). So why are cigarettes, which are PROVEN to indirectly result in the deaths of hundreds of thousands of Americans each year still approved by the FDA? Am I the only one who sees the contradiction here? Is it simply because the tobacco lobby is so powerful that its lining enough pockets in Washington to keep politicians quiet? And if the FDA is a legitimate, non-political agency of our government, can it PLEASE look scientifically at marijuana usage and determine whether or not it really is as dangerous as the anti-drug propaganda would have us believe and if it is any worse than cigarettes or alcohol?

Resolved Question: Yes or no on Alli, the Weight Loss Pill???
Its FDA approved but have you tried it? Whats your experience with it? Good? Bad? Would you recommend it?

Resolved Question: Alli weight loss program/commitment?
I've been reading about this so called program called Alli that has been been designed by Glaxo Smith Kline and approved by the FDA as a safe method to help with weightloss. It is said in these articles that with a commitment to a low fat diet and regular exercise program (plus taking these pills 3x a day) a person will lose weight 50% more than with a regular dieting/exercise regimen. Does anyone have any additional knowledge of this product? Aside from the regular side effects, is the drug Orlistat safe?

Resolved Question: Who else is going to run out and buy ALLI Weight Loss Pill tomorrow when its realsed?
Its the first FDA Approved weight loss pill without a prescription. What is your thoughts or take on this product? http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/alli/DI00080

Resolved Question: anyone thinking about trying Alli when it comes out?
for those of you who haven't heard..it's the only FDA approved weight loss pill that's sold over the counter. it works by blocking the fat you eat from being digested = undigested greay fat is "elliminated naturally". but there's side effects: when you eat too much fat, you have uncontrollable, greasy bowel movements! basically it trains you not to eat alot of fat b/c of the fear of pooping your pants! i'm undecided...i think the fear of an embarassing moment would prevent me from eating any fat at all!

Resolved Question: Weight loss product?
Has anyone tried Alli - it's a pill that has been approved by the FDA as a weight loss aid. I wanted to know if the pill works, how it affected the person who took it, were you able to lose weight & keep it off? Thanks for any good info you can give me! And please, this is a serious inquiry, so no fat jokes, okay?

Resolved Question: Has anyone tried Xenical, the only FDA-approved weight loss pill?

Resolved Question: Has anyone tried the new diet pill, alli, "the only FDA approved, over-the-counter weight loss product"?
I am wondering why the FDA has approved this one, and not hundreds of others. It has to be different somehow (safer, maybe?) ... but I suppose that doesn't mean it works. Here is the website if you're curious: http://www.myalli.com/. I am not looking for a lecture on how I should lose weight be eating health, working out, etc. I am not even sure I am considering using this pill. The FDA approval has just peaked my interest and I am curious. You know, I am getting so sick and tired of spammers who jump into these types of threads to advertise their products. If you are not here to discuss this question, get the F out. If I check your answers and you have pasted this same answer in 30 other weight loss theads, you WILL be reported. Have a great day! :)

Resolved Question: Does vitamin B-6 and Iodine help you lose weight?
I bought a cheap diet pill from a grocery store not that long ago, it hasn't been approved by the FDA, it lists the main ingredients as- Vitamin B-6 (Pyridoxine HCI) 750% daily value. Iodine (kelp) 150% daily value. It also contains Leithin and Cider Vinegar. Will any of these ingredients help promote weight loss? Are any of these doses unhealthy? (I mean, 750% of B-6 is 650% more than normal daily dosage, could this be bad for me?)

Resolved Question: Is anyone taking the diet pill alli? It is the first ever FDA approved weight loss pill and want to know more!
