I'd like to get my 3 year old affordable health insurance. Anyone know about Florida Kid Care, and would you recommend it?
Voting Question: Do you have any advice on being a good single mom? ?
My husband and I have had trouble for over 8 years. He left on Christmas day. Since then, I've been at home with our three children 11, 7, and 4. I have been, for the most part, a stay at home mother for eleven years.
I'm trying to find daycare, a job that provides health insurance, and more affordable housing. My spouse lost his job in July and hasn't found another so we will not be receiving financial support from him for awhile.
Yes, I know you will ask, I did contact my attorney.
I'm a little scared. I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas as to what I can do to make the transition easier? Are there groups for single parents? Do you have hints that will make things much easier?
He called last night and wants to return home. I'm not so sure that is a good idea but am so afraid of being a single mother that I'm tempted to bring him home for the sake of the children.
Perhaps if I can see that it is possible to be a good single mother, I will be less likely I will be to go back to the former situation.
Any advice?
Thank you in advance.
Resolved Question: pre existing condition health coverage?
i have just received notification that my health insurance premium will drastically increase in 2009. i am self employed, so im not part of a group plan. ive checked quotes on the web to compare to the higher rate. if i switch plans i can save $175 a month. the problem is i have a pre existing condition, about ten years ago i broke my leg in a car accident. to repair the break the doctor put a long piece of metal down the center of the bone. its still in there. i assume that this qualifies as a pre-existing condition.
are supplemental plans available that would cover just this condition? if so are they affordable? who offers them?
any info or suggestions would be appreciated.
thanks

Resolved Question: Buying Health Insurance?
I am 60 with pre-existing conditions and am trying to find health insurance, not a discount program. However, I am not sure how to go about finding the right insurance that I can afford. I have degenerative joint disease and spinal stenosis and it is difficult to find affordable insurance. Can anyone help me with this?
Resolved Question: Affordable, good health insurance in Georgia?
I buy my own health insurance. Currently I am being ripped off by Blue Cross Blue Shield! They suck and they are very expensive. Anyone know a better health insurance that is not too expensive?
I am a 27 year old female that makes $300 a week (just got laid off to part-time)
My company does not offer sh*t! They are a small company of 7 people.
Resolved Question: I am planning to get a health insurance?
I need to get a health insurance, anyone can give me suggestions?, any company on the internet that gives me affordable health insurance?,
Any health insurance plan that will give me free quotes, an individual health insurance or any health insurance company that is good.
Resolved Question: Is there an affordable health insurance that covers only ER?
I don't have health insurance right now, and I was wondering if there is a health plan for about $100 a month that covers only ER, in case I hurt myself.
Resolved Question: Isn't a lack of affordable health insurance merely a very late term abortion for Blue collar workers?
Alright, I'm being overly dramatic but what if, as head of household such an individual, without insurance, is treated to a very costly procedure and dies anyway? Why does it become necessary to bankrupt the remaining family as it often is? Why then, if Welfare is so frowned upon by the same opposition group to affordable health care (often referred as "Universal health care" by way of diversion)why is the mother, if she is unable to provide for her children often left homeless and left to wander the streets while they are given up for adoption? Why is this oft repeated scenario accepted by Christian voter or even wealthy atheists (ordinary ones, even) for whom there never may be enough money? This is a worst case scenario and actually happens in some cases. How does one address this issue? I've heard all of standard insults but I'd really appreciate an honest answer and I'm not at all in favor of universal health care for the indolent or the F--k 'em and forget 'em fathers everywhere or, for that matter, the largest group of Welfare recipients, save their unfortunate offspring.
Thanks #1- NO, I haven't decided yet, it will be difficult however so please answer this, even if you'd rather not read all of it.
Resolved Question: What do you want to see in our nation, the US ?
Please, no negativity, no mention of any politician's name. Only what you want to see us work toward. For starters, I want economic stability and prosperity; increased national security, including a reduction in crime; environmental improvement; affordable health insurance and quality health care; respect for diversity; and vastly decreased reliance on foreign energy.
Resolved Question: Affordable Dental Insurance? Can it be true?
I recently lost my job. I would like a separate dental insurance plan besides my basic health insurance. I wonder if anyone else is feeling the pain like me. Any suggestions?
Resolved Question: How to find affordable health insurance?
I am a single mom with a decent income. I make too much money to qualify for health coverage through my state but not enough money to pay all of my bills and afford health insurance. My employer does not offer benefits. The cheapest insurance I have found so far would cost me nearly $500 per month! To top it off, I think I may be pregnant, and I am sure it will be difficult to get any insurance if I am.
Resolved Question: Why should I have to pay for your health insurance?
An answerer on another question said,
"Do you have insurance? What of those who cannot afford it (my sister comes to mind, and she has a husband and two sons under age 18 years who are also not covered)? Medical care is extremely expensive and necessary. I'd much rather my tax dollars go toward a means of making insurance affordable to everyone than to fund an immoral war.
Oh, and my sister and her husband have always worked very hard. Neither are fat, lazy bums who sit around all the time. Heck, my sister would love to have 10 minutes to herself, but can't take the time."
* 20 minutes ago
These people made a choice to have two children they cannot afford to insure. They had a responsibility to seek employment where they would have health insurance coverage for themselves and their two children. Or obtain insurance on their own. If they are healthy, it can be gotten at a rate comparable to what I pay through my work.
I work two jobs. Both of my jobs, even the part-time job, offer me health insurance, so jobs with health benefits are not so hard to find.
Why should I be made to pay for other people's poor choices? I have wants and needs, too, and it's MY money.
NeoNerd, there is help available to people in that situation. SS and Medicaid. But consider this...When you have children, shouldn't you be responsible enough to think ahead? Shouldn't you make sure your family will be okay financially if something were to happen? I don't have children now because I can't afford to. I am working on that. I work. I recently bought my own home. I save money. I am insured to protect myself in the event that I am injured and can't work, etc...
JC, I am charitable. I have four dogs right now. One is a 10 month old puppy who was thrown from a car on the expressway. I rescued her, missed work and paid for the surgery to repair her femur that was broken in half. All the others I found and brought home, had them spayed/neutered, got their shots. One is my baby, he's not going anywhere. I am seeking good homes for the other three.
No one has the right to tell me what charity to donate to.
jkl, no, I don't always make the right choices in life, but I have never expected anyone to pay for them and I learn from my mistakes.
Greedy fool? What the f*ck ever...I'm not rich! I think I cleared 35k last year after my 401k deductions (thinking ahead) and taxes. Taxes I paid to help other people with housing, insurance, food and mad money ?aka aid to families with dependent children) If anyone is selfish and greedy it is the people who accept my tax dollars to pay their bills year after year after year while they produce more children and never even look for work or an opportunity to better themselves.
Taz, I am in Memphis, TN. Work here is getting hard to find, too. That is why people need to teach their children, you have a good job, stick with it, because they are hard to find.
Many of my friends are having problems now because in the past they quit jobs and were fired from jobs. I worked the same job for 3 years in high school. When I was 18, I got a better job (I am 24 and I still work there now) and I went to school to become an EMT. I work as an EMT part-time now and soon I will get my paramedics license.
I agree. The biggest issue we face right now is preserving Our Constitution.
Even McDonalds and Taco Bell have health insurance available! The trick is to try to excel at the job you are doing. You work at Burger King? Sign up for the manager trainee program. You will not only learn new skills, but better pay, full time hours, a pension plan and HEALTH INSURANCE!!!
Resolved Question: How much would we (roughly) pay for health insurance?
Adult male 40+ adult female 40+ and a 5-year old child.
No medical problems or histories if that makes any difference.
All are EU citizens ...
Maybe it's not that simple, but if I don't ask I won't find out :-)
I lived in Twente back in 2000 but and remember health iunsurance as affordable (i was single then). From what I hear now prices have gone through the roof. I am considering returning but am worried about ziekenfonds costs.
Resolved Question: Family Medical Insurance Options in California?
I have been working with an insurance broker to try and reduce our $1,500 COBRA health insurance premium to something more manageable. I have just learned that due to our 6-month old's medical condition, namely Patent Foramen Ovale (PFO) we are not entitled to family health insurance for my son.
I have written more about this on our blog:
http://wecansurvivethiseconomy.com/
We can get insurance for the rest of us but that leaves my son with nothing which is obviously not an option. So instead of moving to a more affordable plan costing around $500 per month we have to stick with COBRA until this small hole (currently around 1-2 mm) closes.
Does anyone know of any other options?
Voting Question: Help! Affordable health insurance for healthy 2yr old in Florida?
Do you know of any good insurance? We're looking for one and it's confusing.
Resolved Question: Why do people believe Universal Health Care Insurance is bad? ?
I have already herd,
without raising taxes on EVERYONE it will never happen. Raising taxes on 5% of this nation will not even start to pay for it.
That and the fact without hiring tens of thousands of new doctors and nurses it will lower the quality of care drastically
Why should the quality of my care lower because some people are too lazy to provide for themselves?
Health care is your responsibility, not the governments
if you do not have health care ask yourself what you are spending money on that you do not need to survive.
First, There are over 300 million people in the United States, 47 million of them are not insured. If it was going to make long wait lines, it would have already happened.
second, We are the only nation that does not have some sort of program like that. We are not talking about free health care for all, we are talking about affordable health care insurance big difference.
third, the way doctors deal with patents and insurance companies are changed. Red tape gone and computerize patent medical records. Drives the costs down.
Forth, the preexisting condition becomes in the past so we do away with that.
Fifth, Most of the 47 million would buy into it, for those disabled and can not afford it, would get help with becoming insured. This also drives the cost down of people having operations and not paying for it as well as being able to get preventative care which will lower the amount of people going on disability. This means lower tax dollars going to ssi and ssd
This is not spam, it belongs in elections because both Republican and Democrat ran with this being in their campaign promises. This question will be put to a vote as long as it has more then 8 answers. I will add more details as we go. Thanks in advance for answering my question.
This is a Question that relates to campaign promises as well the benefit of the under insured
Ok, One the insurance and pharmaceutical companies stand to lose billions if the insurance plan goes through so they have lobbyist that use the fears of ppeople to prevent it from happing with lies and rumors
Two, you do not have to buy into it, you can keep the insurance you have
Third, you already pay taxes for it you just do not know it, it is called Disability, SSI and SSD. Preventive care would save us money. As well as lives. You will not convince me that illegals are in the 47 million figure, those are Americans. By the way, if an Illegal goes to the e.r., you pay for that anyway.
Come on can anyone come up with a original answer other then were lazy and you don't want to help pay for the health care of someone who can not get it.
The preexisting condition clause should have been gone long ago.
My step father is a vet, and he had a bypass heart surgery in the V.A., saved his life. They mail him his medicine each month. Yes, he gets good care from them. The V.A. does have a wait line sometimes at the E.R. but also makes appointments for the vets to get preventative care. Yes it could be better, but save lives everyday. Go V.A. they are a good thing! And our vets, you know the ones who paid for our freedom with their blood have earned it. In my line of thinking
I agree, once it has passed, everyone signed up for the insurance would have a id card for it or for private insurance, and the private people who do not want to sign up for any insurance already have enough money to pay so that would in fact stop the illegals from getting free health care when they are not supposed to be here so that is a good win. I have seen a couple of best answers already but I promised to put it to a vote and I will do just that...
Resolved Question: What is the difference between free health care affordable and universal health care insurance?
Background, I ask many questions in regards to Universal health care insurance, and many people answer with the mind set of free universal health care insurance, So I have to ask the question, does anyone know the difference between free universal health care and affordable health care insurance?
I will add details as we go and this question will be put to a vote..
In this case, universal means everyone can buy into it if they want to. The person pays part and the government pays part. The problem is the people who can not get it due to preexisting conditions or they just can't afford it should get help in becoming insured.
The most important part of this insurance is to get preventive care, this will help drive down the costs of health care because things like cancer, heart disease, and other diseases can be caught early and stopped before it is too late.
Voting Question: has anyone had any exp with alliance for affordable services? it is a health insurance co?
Voting Question: please revise this for an abortion speech?
In order to solve the increasingly high number of abortions, I don't think overturning Roe vs. Wade would be the best idea, because back alley abortions will be back and we'll see an increase in deaths. I think we need more education about pregnancy and safe havens in high school. Sex education classes should include basics on anatomy-most boys and girls don't even know the names of their parts-and most don't know how a girl's cycle works or how pregnancy occurs. Being more aware about contraceptives could also reduce the number of pregnancies and therefore the number of abortions. Easy and affordable access to birth control and condoms, especially in lower income areas where thepregnancy rates are higher--since teens are the majority of abortion customers. At clinics, mandatory education and counceling about the pregnancy procedure and risks-both immediate and down the line if considering an abortion. Also they should let women know about other options like safehavens, medicaid, and adoption. Another way to reduce the abortion rate is better support for women and families. 70% of women who have an abortion say it is at least in part due to financial reasons. Better availability of adequate health insurance and maternity leave can also help reduce the number of abortions.
this speech is a persuasion speech..my teacher told me to come up with a law or something to stop abortions, but i think this may actually be better because i think the problem is that we just have too many and they are being done as a means of birth control
let me know if this is good?!

Resolved Question: While looking for health insurance plans, what does "coinsurance" mean when it's at 0%?
I'm looking for an HMO Health Insurance plan for my boyfriend through eHealthInsurance.com. I've found a plan that is affordable for us, but it says "0% coinsurance" - I'm not sure if this means that we're responsible for 0% or the insurance company is responsible for 0%! It also has a $0 deductible as well.
Resolved Question: Republicans-not everyone is a lazy bum in need of free healthcare!?
Just because someone experienced economic difficulties in their life does not mean they are lazy bums or poor planners that ruined things for themselves! Things happen! Further more, even those whom you consider to be lazy deserve healthcare because they are HUMAN!
How can you expect someone to build something for nothing?!!! DO you know how hard it is to pay for health insurance if you are not one of the select few, plus wait for it for months to go through only to be rejected for some crazy reason? "Get a job" is not that simple! Sometimes working 80 hours a week isn't enough to meet all of your needs, let alone pay for healthcare!
You say that you are hardworking. You say that you don't feel it is your responsibility to pay for other's shortcomings! But how do you expect society to function if there are so many people living off the thin end of the stick? And why the heck are you so terrified of having a little bit of your money taken from you in order to help keep society healthy? Taxes don't slow an economy, in the end they better it by ensuring that everyone has the basic rights that all human beings need, ensuring that children will grow up not worrying so much for mommy because she is wondering how she is going to pay for the medical bills, and giving those in a bad situation a chance to thrive and better themselves through affordable healthcare!
If you were in the position of someone who needed affordable healthcare, would you enjoy being denied it? What if your own kids grew up and something happened and suddenly they couldn't afford to buy health insurance? Would you like that? Furthermore, have you ever been really sick? Have you ever lost a job only to find that you can't afford to buy new health insurance even though you are a hardworking citizen?
You can say all you want about lazy people that leach off the system, but it the end, you are denying your fellow man a basic human right. This country is supposed to be a family, not a divided line. Everyone deserves affordable healthcare. To say otherwise is to say that there are some that are less human than yourself.
My father, for example, owned a small business and one of the core tools he needed to run it was the ability to think quick on his feet, manage the budget and speak to clients on the phone or in person. However, during the economic crisis his business shut down. Shortly after, he suffered a mild stroke that impaired his ability to speak and think. Of course, he could no longer perform the tasks needed for his job and sunk into a deep depression. Oh, did I mention he was also a diehard republican? This hardworking man suddenly couldn't pay his extensive bills and because we lost our business, we had to buy new healthcare, which was incredibly costly to do with only my mother now taking care of us. Shortly after, he developed diabetes and broke his hip in a fall. When we took him to the hospital, they threw him out because we didn't have adequate healthcare at the time, repairing his leg half assedly and leaving him worse off. The rest of our family helped us out the best they could, but were also suffering from economic crisis as well. Now my dad is in wheelchair and stays in a government run nursing home because he couldn't get the proper healthcare that he needed at the time. My mother works as hard as ANY AMERICAN and cannot afford to watch my father. My father was a hardworking man who fell on troubled times and bad circumstances, and his country failed to help him when he needed it most. My mother barely can afford her healthcare and is sick from all the worrying she does.
Don't tell me that it's not your fault. Don't tell me that it's not your job to provide for others. How can you live with yourself and at the same time deny people the right to stay healthy? I'm not trying to force my story on you, but my God, where is your humanity? What is this fear of something being taken from you? Thank god I'm not sick or else I would be terrified! I myself at 21 can barely afford to buy healthcare being in college(which is also ridiculously expensive thanks to your party) and am actually still waiting to be approved after 6 months! How's that for corrupt?
On a second note, this is "rant" is not meant to bring attention to MY family's problems, but to illustrate a point. I can think of countless stories as bad or worse than mine, but I don't have the room to post them. Just talk to people and you will see what I mean, or watch these videos if you are too "lazy" to inform yourself about your fellow man!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y9opmUFewPU
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jz8botZ7_cE
How can you say in good conscience that these people don't deserve affordable healthcare! Not only that, but this videos also serve to show how corrupt the health insurance companies are, and the reconstruction they need.
To Jethro and all others- so what if I'm 21? I've watched my parents as well as many others work hard and suffer! And for the record, I DO NOT work a desk job, I am a waitress that busts her ass every day just to help pay the bills and aid my family. And who said that I don't appreciate the sacrifices of the US soldiers? But are THEY being denied healthcare? Probably not in comparison to the rest of us! I don't need to be older to understand what human beings need. As far as paying for college, well, tell me why everyone in Canada or the rest of the civilized world can afford school? Geee, I think EVERYONE in those countries wants to go to school...Hmmm, in fact, more of them are in school percentageise than the US! So what if we are a bigger country, we can accomadate! And as far as for the middleclass, you will not be taxed considerably because you don't make enough money!!!Hello!
Resolved Question: What health insurance is best for my son and i?
I have medicaid (amerigroup) and my son will be covered until he turns one. i know i have a while until then but what i want to know is what will i have to do to find health insurance for the both of us? whats are some plans that are affordable?
Resolved Question: Where can my family find affordable health insurance?
We live in Minnesota, we're a young couple, newly engaged with a 5 month old son. We were working on getting Minnesota Care. Our son's coverage was suppose to start Dec. 1 and my fiance's coverage was suppose to start later. We just received letters stating we make 275% too much!! We don't know what to do. I am going to school so I am still covered by my parent's insurance but my son needs coverage. Where can I find something affordable but that has good coverage?
I have looked at that website that you have provided... We don't qualify for that. We make 275% over their income qualifications. That is what we had originally applied for but are now being denied of. I'd rather stay away from the State health insurance, we more than likely won't qualify. =/
Resolved Question: Why can't the Extremely Wealthy Afford Health Coverage?
During the election, the Republican party announced that the wealthy or those making over 250,000.00 a year should also have affordable health coverage...why? What's the going rate for a doctor visit these days? If they paid cash for surgery, appointments and medication I doubt that it would put them in the hole or into foreclosure.
They can afford the insurance and helping those who can't get it or have little coverage does not come out of their pockets. A percentage of taxes paid goes everywhere. And who has been the main contributors when it comes to paying high taxes especially when deductibles are few and far between or was this news rhetoric?
Resolved Question: Why did Obama flip flop on HealthCare from available care to affordable Insurance as per the Bush/Hillary plan?
Will Obama now pass the Health Insurance Law mandating everyone buy Government backed AIG Insurance.
Hillary has been calling for a Health Insurance Law since 1992. She has one by one got most politicians on board. Now even Obama has joined the Hillary/ Bush/ Swartznager Health Insurance Law plan.
Resolved Question: grammer check paragraph?
Both of the major party presidential candidates have offered there positions on healthcare. John McCain’s proposals focus on open-market competition rather than government funding or control. McCain would work with states to help create what he calls a “guaranteed access plan.” At the heart of his plan are tax credits-$2,500 for individuals and $5,000 for families who do not subscribe to or do not have access to health care through their employer. Barack Obama has called for universal health care. His health care plan would create a national insurance exchange that would include both private insurance plans and a Medicare-like government run option, coverage would be guaranteed regardless of health status, and premiums would not vary based on health status either. It would require parents to cover their children, but does not require adults to buy insurance. They describe the purpose of the McCain plan is to “make insurance more affordable,” while the purpose of the Obama plan is for “more to have health insurance.”
Voting Question: Health Insurance for pregnant women?
I was laid off from my job and I have been unable to find a new job, my cobra insurance is about to run out and I am looking for affordable insurance for pregnant woman. I do not qualify for medicaid because my husband does work but insurance is not offered through his employer. Does anyone know of a company that has a plan that will cover pregnancy and after?

--- I have checked in to medicaid and it subtracts for every dollar that is earned... so because my husband is employed and based on what he makes i was declined for benifits, but thank you for your attempt.

Resolved Question: Why do Americans not like universal healthcare?
You know that NOT all countries that have universal healthcare have GOVERNMENT-RUNNED healthcare. Americans seem to think universal healthcare is where the government runs mediocre hospitals and clinics like in Canada and Great Britian. We should adopt a system like the Netherlands, which has universal healthcare. In that country, the system is runned by private hospitals and insurance companies. All the government does is to make sure that the insurance accepted all people, including those with chronic medical conditions, offered everyone a standard level of healthcare, and was affordable. The government helps pay for those who don't have enough money to get their own healthcare package. And if the rich want extra coverage they can have purchase it. And the Netherlands pays less for healthcare as a percentage of its GDP than the US does.
So what's wrong with it? The health care system is still private, but it's universal!!
Pardon my English. it kinda sucks today...
Resolved Question: What are the top 3 neglected areas in keeping health care costs affordable?
I shudder to think of "socialized" medicine in any form, and I also believe in capitalism WITHOUT UNCONTROLLED GREED AND CORRUPTION. So, what steps could have/should have been taken by either or both bipartisan elected officials to curb costs?
My top 3 would have to include:
1) Put the muzzle on these runaway pharmaceutical companies!
2) Close monitoring of all kickbacks (unnecessary hospital consultations/referrals included)
3) Stipulations on insurance companies regarding preexisting conditions and coverage limitations in conjunction with predatory lawsuits/lawyers.
Insurance Pickle: I know that stipulations on preexisting conditions would drive prices up, I work in a hospital setting; that is JUST MY POINT. This is why people are leaning toward socialized medicine, which would be a mess. I don't think you looked at both sides of the "conundrum" before you answered, but thanks for your reply.
Voting Question: Help! Health Insurance Plan Advice?
I'm having a difficult time deciding on a sensible health plan in my open enrollment package...
My company insurance pays over 90% of medical expenses on average. The insurer is Aetna.
My average income is about 25K per year. I am a full time college student, living alone. My medical needs are minimal... a couple of normal daily prescriptions and routine examinations. I have had a family doctor for 16 years who is very lenient with my retail health care costs, and is in the network of preferred providers.
Coverage (even low level) comes with visual and life insurance, and the dental options are just a couple bucks a month.
The PPO plan runs 113.00 per month. This leaves my provider options open, annual deductible of 200.00 and a 2,000 maximum "out of pocket" (not including copay, coinsurance, or deductible). This plan has a $250 copay for hospital inpatient, and pays 90%. ER is 100 copay then 90%. The remaining services have an affordable copay with 100% coverage.
The EPO (higher) is a pretty 102.00 per month, and models an HMO. No deductible, 1500 maximum out of pocket, 100% coverage on each benefit, and a cheaper hospital/ER copay of 75/100 dollars. To me, this somehow seems like a sweeter deal... (given my docs are in the network)...
The lowest option is 63.00 per month, no deductible, 2,000 max, and covers most benefits at 100%, except inpatient (250 copay, 80%)... The emergency copay doubles, the remaining copays just go up about 5 bucks.
It seems to me... the best "deal" is the EPO (higher) plan. I don't understand how the PPO can be more expensive, offer less coverage, and be a better plan. Is this all related to "network" providers?
Even so, the higher EPO is pretty dang expensive. Its going to cut a big chunk from my regular pay (2x the smaller EPO). As a young woman with a (thus far) clean bill of health, would taking the smaller option be a better "bet" for me? I'll save nearly 500/year on the smallest plan, but if a hospital visit pops up I could be left so broke I can't pay attention.
In the opinion of you experienced insured workers out there.. what is best for a single student? Take a smaller plan and save precious dollars? or take the bigger plan "just in case"??
Voting Question: How can our teen get health insurance in California?
He's 19 and a part-time student. so he no longer qualifies for our Kaiser Permanente coverage. We seemed to have missed the deadline to cover him by COBRA. In a few months he'll be taking full-time classes again, so he can go back into Kaiser, but knowing him he'll catch the flu or Dutch Elm Disease or something just to bug me.
Is there any affordable way to get him covered for the next few months? Would he qualify for Medi-Cal (Medicaid)?
Resolved Question: Should my husband put me on his health insurance?
My hubby took me off of his policy last year and I've been without this whole year. Thank the universe nothing too serious happened to me that I couldn't take care of either myself or with the help of my stepmother-the-super-herbalist, I've been rationing my contacts usage and keeping super glue and tape around for my ancient glasses. But open enrollment is this week and he told me that if I really want to go back on his insurance that he will put me on it, but it's going to cost us an extra couple hundred dollars a month. We thought about just putting me on his Dental and Vision as those are things, I know right now, that I need, but I still fear that my accident prone self and my way-out-of-whack blood sugar will kick my patootie and without ins. I'll be in big trouble. Any suggestions? Can he drop me from his insurance if somehow I become eligible for affordable ins. somewhere else?
TxNiteRyder; Wow, someone could use a martini and a good massuese. I'm sorry you are such sour puss.
Voting Question: anyone here insured with the "Atlantis" company for their health insurance?
I have been trying to get something affordable for myself since I don't have any coverage. So far this is the one that's more or less affordable for me but I want to make sure this is something legitimate and with good service and coverage. I live in the NY/Westchester county area
Resolved Question: What would be YOUR solution to affordable health care in America?
I work and most of my salary goes to insurance, so what would be an affordable alternative? I don't think it should be given to us by the government, but I think there should be some controls on the cost, so more people could afford it.
Marina, actually at my age it goes up and I would like to see what kind of coverage you get for 80.00 a month!
